
Billy Chemirmir, the Kenyan serial killer who was convicted of killing 24 elderly people in the United States, was killed in a Texas prison on July 13, 2023, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
Chemirmir was found dead in his cell at the James V. Allred Unit in Huntsville, Texas, at around 9:30 a.m. on July 13, 2023. He was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
The TDCJ said that Chemirmir’s death is being investigated as a homicide. However, no further details have been released.
Chemirmir was arrested in June 2018 after he was caught on camera trying to break into the apartment of an elderly woman in Dallas. He was later linked to the deaths of 24 elderly people in Dallas, Collin, and Kaufman counties.
Chemirmir was convicted of nine counts of capital murder in November 2020. He was sentenced to death for each count.
