Kakamega gubernatorial seat race has intensified after theIEBC cleared UDP’s Cyrus Jirongo and KANU’s Major Suleiman Sumba.
The two while receiving their certificates on Sunday promised to offer alternative leadership to Kakamega residents to ensure good leadership.
Jirongo said he is best suited for the top job since he is an accomplished politician who is not interested in squandering county money, but creating employment through initiation of mega projects in the county.
On his part, Sumba said he will offer good leadership if elected governor, adding that he learned a lot on matters of integrity, having worked with the army for many years.
The tight Kakamega race has attracted seven candidates, among them ANC’s Cleophas Malala and ODM’s Fernandes Barasa.
