On Monday morning, one of the directors of a firm named as the one claiming ownership of a property demolished in Westlands, Nairobi on November 4 was accused in court.

Nathaniel Kipkemboi Barmasai pled not guilty to armed robbery.

He is accused of brutally robbing Niraj Shah and Avani Shah of Ksh.18 million in stuff.

Kipkemboi was released on cash bail of Ksh.2 million.

On November 10, the Nairobi High Court discharged Zachary Baraza, the auctioneer who oversaw the eviction and demolition of the Ksh.80 million Westlands property.

Baraza has been directed to report to the investigating officer whenever he is summoned.

The prosecution had requested that the court grant investigators access to the demolished residence in order to assess the damage and establish an inventory of objects allegedly stolen from the house during the demolition.
