Deputy President William Ruto has reiterated that he will focus on labour-intensive, rather than capital-intensive infrastructure, should he win the August 9 polls.

“Kenya Kwanza will not continue with the borrowing spree that has ballooned our debt in the last five years alone close to Ksh7 trillion. We will focus more on investments and labour-intensive infrastructure,” he said.

He spoke at the Bomas of Kenya on Saturday, after being presented with a clearance certificate to run to the country’s top job.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman, Wafula Chebukati, presented Ruto with the clearance certificate on Saturday after he presented his credentials.

Ruto said he is committed to ensuring the elections are free and fair.
