Babu Owino Demands National Assembly PAC Chair Seat in ODM

Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, has slammed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party for what he calls betrayal.

Babu claims that the ODM party initially promised him the chair of the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), but has now reneged on that promise.

The seat has since been handed over to ODM National Chairperson and Nominated MP John Mbadi, according to the outspoken legislator.

He claims that in an earlier arrangement, Mbadi was set to be fronted as the National Assembly’s Majority Leader, a position now held by Ugunja legislator Opiyo Wandayi.

As a result, he declares that he will not back down and allow the PAC leadership role to be stripped from him, arguing that Mbadi has already been rewarded for his loyalty to the party by being nominated to the House.
