The body of a former Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer was discovered in a lodging in Isiolo town, prompting an investigation.

The body was discovered by staffers Wednesday morning, according to Isiolo North Sub County police commander Collins Saina.

“The staff members who reported the incident stated that the door to the Ex-KDF officer’s room was found open,” police said.

According to reports, the man, who is from Embu, informed construction workers back home that he was going out to buy some building materials.

He, on the other hand, boarded a matatu to Isiolo and reserved a room, never to return home. Regrettably, the retired officer was later discovered dead in the lodging.

The widow of the former officer has since identified her late husband’s body, which was taken to the mortuary at Isiolo Teaching and Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
