Johnson Sakaja Invites Igathe For ‘A Coffee’ After Conceding Defeat

Nairobi Governor-elect Johnson Sakaja has welcomed the gesture by his main competitor Polycarp Igathe to concede defeat in the just concluded General Election.

Taking to social media on Sunday, Sakaja commended his political rival for what he termed as leading ‘clean politics’, this time inviting Igathe for a coffee for putting a good fight in the titanic battle.

Sakaja, running on a UDA ticket emerged the winner in the hotly-contested race to ascend to the county’s top post by amassing 699,392 votes ahead of the Jubilee party candidate who got 573,516 votes.

In an unprecedented move, Igathe took to social media to acknowledge Sakaja as the duly-elected leader as he sent his congratulatory message to the former Senator.

Likewise, Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) in their usual fashion did not hold back from weighing on the matter with some making light of the election outcome.

Here are some of the hilarious reactions from Netizens.

”Moving forward you can also find ways to work together. You both have very great ideas for Nairobi. What a force to reckon with you can be, if you look in that direction,” Wambua@Wambua noted.

Mr.QUiRKY™ @G19Gee said: “Mnunulie Arimis, mikono zimechapa after kuoshea watu manguo.”
