Duale Declared Garissa Township MP Elect

Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has secured his seat for the third time after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declared him as the winner of the constituency’s 2022 race.

Duale retained his seat after securing a total of 9,905 votes, trouncing his closest competitor Abdulahi Mohamoud who garnered 5,509 votes.

The legislator, addressing the press after being declared MP-elect lauded Kenyans for keeping calm and called on leaders to band together to serve the people of the Kenyan republic.

“Kenyans have chosen to be democratic and have refused to be coerced by other leaders and even yesterday Kenya Kwanza leaders and Azimio leaders were sitting together and we should work together and serve the nation,” he said.

Duale was contesting under a UDA ticket.
