Presiding Officer at Raila’s Polling Station Loses Crucial Form 34A

A presiding officer of  polling station where Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga votes has lost his Form 34A.

Raila votes at Old Primary school in Kibera, Nairobi county.

Video seen by Nairobi Leo showed the IEBC official explaining to agents that he had misplaced the crucial voting document while moving ballot boxes for clearance at the Upper Hill tallying center.

The officer David Diang’a, said the documents were in an envelope and he could not trace it.

“I had them in an envelope and I had a bag and as I was manning my ballots but as I was pushing them in here for clearance, but when I got here, unfortunately, I didn’t have the form,” he said in the video seen by Nairobi Leo.

Form 34A is where the final results of a presidential election are recorded at a polling station.

The constituency Returning Officer, however, said he would rely on the data they had received, adding that the law allows for the re-opening of the ballots, but only in the presence of the agents who were available.

He added that the PO will be available to answer any questions that might need clarification.
