A motor vehicle belonging to Tigania East MP Gichunge Kabeabea went up in flames on Saturday night.
The vehicle, a Toyota Prado BK model burnt down at Mikinduri area, near Thiiti bridge in Meru County.
Speaking to Citizen Digital on Saturday, area police boss Joel Chepkwony said that there is no clear information yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Chepkwony added that investigations have been launched to determine whether the vehicle was burnt, and who the perpetrators are.
The incident comes days after another motor vehicle, belonging to Former CCU Party Secretary General Philipe Sadjah was set ablaze.
According to reports by the police, no one was injured when the car went up in flames at Sadjah’s Miwani home in Machakos County on Thursday Night.
The CCU Sec Gen said unknown persons went to his residence at night and demanded entry, claiming they had been sent by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
“If I have done something wrong, I should be called to the DCI or OCS to record a statement and not send people claiming to be DCI officers at night,” Sadjah said.
