Detectives in Nairobi have a Kenyan man wanted in the United Kingdom for allegedly sexually molesting minors.

The suspect, Anthony Kamau alias Anthony Kinuthe was apprehended by the sleuths based at the Transnational Organized Crimes Unit on Friday.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that Kamau fled to Kenya after being granted bail terms in the UK where he faced charges of sexual harassment of minors.

“Anthony Kinuthia Kamau, who has been on the run after jumping bail in the United Kingdom is wanted at the Chelmsford Crown Court of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to answer to charges of sexual harassment of minors,” read a statement by the DCI.

“The pedophile is reported to have sexually assaulted underage girls within an 11-year period from 2005.”

Further, the DCI noted, that Kamau was also charged with four counts of engaging in a non-penetrative sexual activity with one girl and for inciting an underage girl to perform a sexual act, in November 2019.

The accused, according to the DCI, then fled to Kenya soon after the court issued bail terms and has been engaging the sleuths in cat and mouse games.

He is now behind bars awaiting arraignment.
