Two police officers are nursing injuries at Nairobi West Hospital after they were attacked in the Central Business District (CBD) while on patrol.

The two were in the company of three other officers near Afya Centre on Wednesday, when the assailant attacked one of them with a mystery weapon, cutting him on his left arm.

The attacker then turned to the second officer who was trying to save his colleague, leaving him with cuts on the neck.

“The assailant fled immediately after attack,” a police officer who visited the crime scene told the press.

The two officers were rushed to a nearby pharmacy for first aid before being transferred to hospital for treatment.

Police, however, maintain that the victims did not lose their weapons during the attack.
