Police in Uganda are investigating an incident where a Kenyan national collapsed and died in a taxi in Kampala.
Lynet Mujuma, 45, died on Saturday at around 5pm in the Old Taxi Park in Kampala, according to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire.
Ms. Mujuma was reportedly admitted at a hospital in the Ugandan capital and she dropped dead while on a mission to flee hospital.
“Before her death, the deceased, Mujuma, had been admitted at Mulango Hospital under the care of her cousin, Bernard Wafula,” Mr. Owoyesigire was quoted as saying by local media.
“She decided to escape from hospital, but while she was seated in a taxi registration number UBC 512R, she collapsed and died on the spot.”
Ms. Mujuma’s body was taken to the City mortuary for a post mortem as investigations into the death got underway.
“Investigations into the cause of her death are ongoing,” Mr. Owoyesigire added.
