Fahari Aviation Launches First Drone Enclosure Facility

Fahari Aviation (a subsidiaryKenya Airways (KQ) has launched the first drone enclosure facility in the country.

The facility is expected to be deployed in training and testing drones and drone equipment.

The innovative unit of the national carrier is betting on the facility to position itself in exploring future technologies in aviation.

“The drone cage will provide a safe environment for practice and training,” noted Fahari Aviation’s General Manager Hawkins Musili.

“Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) are creating new opportunities for individuals and enterprises; as one of the most experienced aviators within the region, having a community of drone enthusiasts builds a strong foundation for us and like-minded people who want to bring out their ideas through UAS for sustainable development in the region.”

Fahari Aviation offers a single station for both individuals and corporates looking to tap the UAS industry including the training of pilots, enterprise solutions and traffic management.

The unit’s primary objective is to spearhead civic education on the safe use of UAS in Kenya and enhance innovation research and development of UAS technology.
