After another night guard was killed early today, January 2, 2023, the people of Tala are now living in fear.
Unknown assailants entered the Fast Mart supermarket, dragged the watchman outside, and then ransacked the cash box, grabbing an undetermined sum of money along with other valuables.
This event followed a comparable one that happened at Dorcas City Rgc Nguluni just two weeks earlier, where another night guard was killed.
OCPD Matungulu, Peter Omondi acknowledged the incident but opted not to further. As investigations get underway, the body of the deceased watchman has been transferred to Kangundo Hospital mortuary.
Jackson Ndaka, a Tala MCA, vehemently denounced the act and expressed sadness that a person who was trying to support their family was killed in such a horrific way.
Ndaka also made note of an increase in local instability, citing the Nguluni church event as only one example.
Ndaka responded by requesting that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure transfer the senior Matungulu police officers, alleging that they are unwilling to perform their jobs.
If the police are not transferred, Ndaka vowed to organize a peaceful protest in seven days.
