On the Meru-Nairobi Highway, a bus carrying passengers to a wedding in Karen, Nairobi, overturned, causing at least four fatalities and several critical injuries.
On December 3rd, early on a Saturday morning, about five in the morning, an accident took place in Njuri, Tharaka Nithi County.
According to many sources, the bus carrying close to 46 people belonged to Kiambu County’s Ruiri Girl’s High School.
The 46 people involved were Thau Methodist Church members from Tigania East, according to the police, who confirmed the occurrence.

Alex Mugambi, the disaster manager for Tharaka Nithi County, added that efforts were being made to free four additional persons who were still inside the bus.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the bus’s tires broke, causing the driver to lose control, and the bus rolled on the highway. The fast bus swerved and toppled despite efforts to avert the collision.
Emergency personnel transported the deceased to a local mortuary while transporting the injured to Chuka County Referral Hospital.
