Users of the instant messaging service WhatsApp now have access to 3D avatars that may be used as personalised stickers or profile pictures.
The avatars, which are already available on Instagram and Facebook, are coming to WhatsApp, according to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta.
Avatars are coming to WhatsApp! You can now use your avatar as a chat sticker. Soon, all of our apps will feature more designs, wrote Mark Zuckerberg on his page.
In a blog post, WhatsApp stated that users could personalize their avatars or select one of 36 bespoke stickers that represented various emotions.
The company explained that; “your avatar is a digital representation of yourself that can be constructed from billions of combinations of different hairstyles, facial characteristics, and clothes.”
The Avatar stickers are comparable to Apple’s Memoji stickers and Snapchat’s Bitmoji.
WhatsApp also announced that users would soon be able to customize their avatars’ colors, lighting, and hair textures.
Through the settings section, users of the app can make their own avatars. A “use avatar” option will also be included in WhatsApp’s profile photo settings.
