4 Dead as UDA MP’s Campaign Car Rolls-over

Four people, among them Lungalunga MP Khatib Mwashetani’s driver, on Thursday lost their lives in a road accident along Kwale County’s Lungalunga area.

Police reports say that one of the tires of the vehicle which the four were travelling in at the time, burst before the car rolled several times.

The four were reportedly campaigning for Mwashetani’s re-election when the incident occurred.

Kwale County Police Commissioner Gideon Oyagi told Citizen Digital in a phone interview that police have commenced investigations into the incident to establish the exact cause behind the alleged tire burst.

The bodies of the four have since been moved to a local morgue pending postmortem while the vehicle’s wreckage was towed to a police station in the area.
