Deputy President William Ruto has urged ODM Party boss Raila Odinga to accept election results should he defeat him in August and exit the stage peacefully.

Speaking at Karori in Kiambu county during the Kenya Kwanza rally on Saturday, July 16, Ruto warned Raila against any attempts to resist election results should he lose in August, saying he will firmly deal with him.

While promising a duel battle at the ballot, Ruto said Raila should be ready to concede, pack his things, and “head to Bondo” adding that he will not entertain him for another handshake like President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“2022 mimi nimemwambia bwana kitendawili mimi sio Uhuru Kenyatta utaniletea, mimi nitaangalia wewe macho kwa macho, tunaelewana? nimemwambia safari hii hakuna kujiabisha, hakuna kutupa mawe wala kupanga maandamano. Tukimalizana na wewe unaenda nyumbani pole pole,” stated Ruto in Swahili.

At the same time, Ruto asked his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, to keep off his succession politics and allow him to square it out with the Azimio presidential candidate man-to-man.

Ruto said he has been friends with Uhuru and has helped him finish his two terms in office and should therefore reciprocate by keeping off the competition, even if he has declared that he (Uhuru) is not going to support Ruto as agreed in 2013.

Speaking during Githurai, Ruto said he is ready to face off with the former prime minister on August 9 and expressed optimism that he will beat him hands down.

“Why is President Uhuru Kenyatta coming after me? I have been his friend and I have helped him fulfill his desires. I ask you my friend for old times sake, step aside and let me deal with Mr. Kitendawili personally,” added Ruto
