Former Sofapaka FC midfielder Wisdom Naya has passed away, aged just 19 after succumbing to a long battle with cancerous soft tissue, Sarcoma.
FKF Premier League club Sofapaka broke the news early Friday as they posted their messages of condolences on their social media accounts.
The player was diagnosed with the disease that affected his knee in 2021 after what doctors had initially thought to be a knee injury the year before.
He underwent successful surgery in India and returned to the country in January 14 to start his recovery journey but passed on due to complications from amputation.
He joined Sofapaka in 2019 but was released after only one season.
