Police in Kisumu have arrested a man captured in a viral video flogging another man over his stand in the Kisumu central constituency parliamentary race.
Nyanza police boss Karanja Muiruri says the suspect was arrested on Monday in Nyalenda and is in lawful custody.
According to Karanja, they are also pursuing another man who was recording the video using his phone.
He told the media that police will also record statements from the victim, adding that the suspect will be arraigned and charged in court.
In the less than one-minute video, an unidentified man is seen crying for help as he is whipped and ordered to declare his political allegiance to Kisumu Central Mp Fred Ouda.
The incident that happened in Nyalenda has sparked outrage online with calls for action against the perpetrators.
