This comes after a local daily insinuated that Kinoti on Thursday labeled Sakaja as a person of interest in an ongoing inquiry into an alleged global crime ring with roots in Nairobi.

Taking to Facebook on Friday, the Nairobi Governor aspirant while claiming that the so-called manhunt against him was politically motivated, insisted that he was undeterred despite the unwanted attention from the DCI.

“Threats of arrest and persecution by the state will not intimidate us or change the will of the people of Nairobi,” said Sakaja.

Sakaja went ahead and offered to turn himself over to the DCI in a bid to straighten out the said allegations tabled against him.

“Our resolve remains firm. Bwana DCI Kinoti, I’m at my Riverside office, karibu or let me know if you’d like me to come over. Your office will not install a project on the people of Nairobi,” he said.

Sakaja’s bid to contest for the Nairobi Governor seat at the August General Election has suffered a major setback after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission questioned the legitimacy of his required academic qualifications.

The legislator’s troubles began on Wednesday when the Commission for University Education (CUE) revoked  the recognition of his Bachelor of Science in Management Degree from Uganda’s Team University.

The commission said it will open a probe into the validity of the papers the Senator presented before the Wafula Chebukati-led electoral body for clearance to run.

Sakaja then moved  to court to challenge the CUE decision arguing that it was made unfairly and in favour of his political rivals.

He stated that the commission’s decision was rushed, adding that the matter revolving around his academic qualification to vie for the Governor race is still under investigations.

“My qualifications are legit and the relevant institutions have refused to play along with your games. Let the people decide,” Sakaja added in his Facebook post.
