Two people have died in Toniok Village, Eldama Ravine in Baringo County.
The two, who hail from Pemwai in Ngolong, Baringo Central, were in the process of digging the latrine when one of them collapsed after allegedly intoxicating an unknown gas.
His colleague tried to rescue him only for him to collapse as well. A rescue mission by locals bore no fruits as the two died moments later.
“Those who assisted in the rescue mission complained of headaches,” a local told Citizen Digital.
Residents appealed to health officials in Baringo to collect samples from the scene for proper medical analysis.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital.
