A 32-year-old woman allegedly hacked her two children to death

Police in Nandi County are pursuing a 32-year-old woman accused of hacking her two children to death in Kapkawa Village.

Kabolebo Sub-location Assistant Chief Joseph Koech said the suspect identified as Floxy Cheptoo killed her 7-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son and stashed their bodies in a sack before dumping it in a pit latrine.

The woman is then believed to have gone into hiding after the incident.

The bodies of the two children were discovered after a villager who went to relieve himself in the same latrine and noticed blood spots, alerting the neighbours.

It took the efforts of the villagers and the police to recover the mutilated bodies of the two children from the pit latrine.

Police have already launched investigations into the incident as a hunt for the suspect continues.
